2nd Annual Symposium - Updates on Esophageal Disease 2018

Stanford Esophageal Multi-Disciplinary Program in Innovation and Research presents our Second Annual Symposium:

“Updates on Esophageal Disease 2018”

Friday, April 27, 2018
7:30 am - 5:00 pm

Alumni Center, Fisher Conference Center, 326 Galvez St., Stanford University

Symposium Directors: John Clarke, MD and George Triadafilopoulos, MD

Esophageal disorders are on the rise and pose a significant risk to patient health and well-being. Gastroesophageal reflux affects 20% of Americans on a weekly basis, while dysphagia, Barrett’s esophagus, esophageal adenocarcinoma, eosinophilic esophagitis, achalasia and hiatal hernias are also increasing in prevalence. This symposium will showcase the Stanford Esophageal Multidimensional Program for Innovation and Research Excellence.

We will discuss key clinical issues affecting the esophagus in 2018, featuring a multidisciplinary team that includes representatives from gastroenterology, surgery, and otolaryngology.  Our guest speaker for this event is Dr. Joel Richter, a prior president of the American College of Gastroenterology, author of over 400 publications, and a legend in the field. Please join us for what we promise will be a fascinating day.
