Like AAPI communities, African immigrants are disproportionately affected by hepatitis B, with 5-18% of some communities chronically infected with the virus. “These new resources, focused on providing basic hepatitis B education and skill-building for community health workers and physicians, will address an unmet need among AI communities, where awareness and testing is currently low,” stated Dr. Robert Gish, Medical Director of the Hepatitis B Foundation.
