Researchers call for more flexible editorial conduct rather than abruptly adopting only the new MASLD nomenclature

The 2023 multi-society Delphi consensus statement suggested renaming NAFLD to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), where “fatty” was replaced by its synonym “steatotic”.
